Another F@$%ing delay

I am SICK and TIRED - will there EVER be ANY good news about timelines. This is getting REALLY old REALLY quickly. YES, I AM IN THE ANGRY PHASE RIGHT NOW!!

Just got word of the new court delays, which will certainly bring more referral delays - I can almost bet my life on it - More delays in court means longer to travel, means longer the babes have to stay in the transition home, means less beds available for new babes, means REFERRAL DELAYS. DAMN IT DAMN IT DAMN IT

I just want someone to give me some good news...please.

Hi,

I just got the same email. We've been waiting for a referral for 8 months now... hold on tight. Apparently it all happens in God's time... I'm hoping it helps me to give words of support to someone else...

Laura - I just heard to the news as well. It is very discouraging. BTW, you asked me a while back whether we have an adoption blog. We've set one up (a private one) but will add you to our list of readers. Cara

It was a necessary email to get but not the least bit fun to read. UGH!! I was wanting to post about it too but thinking about it was too depressing. I'll get there at some point.

I guess if there is a silver lining, hopefully they will have worked out all the kinks in the new process by the time you are there. I am DREADING being the guinea pig in all the changes.

Yep this sucks big time, BUT the good part is IA will have everything all sorted out by the time you have to go through and it will be a breeze! Take care. The wait is so absolutely worth all of this.

Hey thanks for the warm welcome!!!
Yeah this F#%&ing sucks, but the only thing that is for sure is the process gets longer the longer we are in it.
On that note I am going to cork a bottle of wine and numb the pain...... Lynds

When I get home I'll add you as a reader... unfortunately I don't write often as I'm trying to keep it positive and that's tough right now. TOUGH! We've been waiting 8 months for a referral (were told it would be 4 to 6 months) and now we've been told it could be up to 9 months... then the courts stuff too!!

Add me to your blog, I'd love to be connect to another family!

Take care.

Oh dang. I never made the connection between increased court times and increased referral times. boo.

I do understand the frustration, but as adoptive parents we need to support the courts in affording Ethiopian children and families the same legal right as Canadian familes, so that the process continues for years to come. There have been too many unfortunate instances when adoption programs were shut down because of corruption and this does not benefit anyone, least of all the orphaned children in those countries.

Dear Anonymous, I do understand and appreciate the need for this process; however, it does not make the waiting any easier or shorter. We are ALL committed to this journey, no matter what it brings along the way - but being able to share our feeling with others who can relate is also an important part of this journey.
